APS RADIATION SAFETY
Radiation dosimeters are required to monitor potential exposure when working on the Experiment Hall Floor.
Who Needs One
- Required: All personnel entering the main aisle and beamline areas beyond the office space.
- Not Required: Work conducted only in the laboratories does not require a dosimeter.
If you plan to use the beamline during your visit, you must obtain and wear a dosimeter.
Issuance & Use
- Dosimeters are issued by beamline staff.
- Must be worn at all times when on the Experiment Hall Floor.
Requesting a Dosimeter
- Requests must be submitted at least 72 hours before your ESAF start date.
- Late requests may delay your experiment.
