ELECTRICAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
IT IS REQUIRED BY DOE that all non-NRTL electrical equipment must be inspected and approved before use at ANL. Details: Electrical Equipment Inspection pages .
The request for an electrical equipment inspection must be submitted at least three (3) days prior to the start of the experiment to allow for scheduling the inspectors.
Electrical equipment with the NRTL markings are exempt from inspection unless modified.

Electrical Work – Important Reminders
- Users are not allowed to perform unsupervised electrical work
- Users are not allowed to reset tripped circuit breakers
- Prohibited activities:
- rewiring of plugs, cables, or any other electrical equipment
- connecting and disconnecting motor cables with power on
Extension cords and power strips must be used appropriately. No overloading or daisy-chaining.
