CRYOGENICS & SHARPS
Working with Cryogenics

Safety Requirements:
- Wear insulated gloves and a full face shield.
- Always work in a well-ventilated area to prevent asphyxiation hazards.
⚠ Cryogenic liquids can cause severe frostbite or displacement of oxygen.
Sharps Safety
Proper handling:
- Dispose of needles, blades, and broken glass in designated sharps containers.
- (note: sharps contaminated with hazardous materials have to be rinsed prior disposal. All solvents used for decontamination must be processed as hazardous waste.)
- Do not overfill containers — close and replace when ¾ full.
- Never recap needles — handle all sharps carefully to avoid punctures or cuts.
📌 Proper sharps disposal protects you and others from injury and contamination.
